Enrollment & Eligibiity

How do I enroll?

You can enroll by clicking here. Also you can call us at (913) 299-6666, email trinitycareerinstitute@gmail.com, or fill out the contact form on our website. Our team will confirm available seats in your preferred cohort and walk you through the registration steps. Enrollment must be completed by the day before class begins.

What are the age requirements?

CNA: Minimum age 16.
CMA: Minimum age 18 (and must hold a Kansas CNA certification).
HHA: Must hold a valid CNA certification (no specific minimum age stated beyond CNA requirement).

What documents do I need to enroll?

You will need:

A valid driver’s license or state ID,
A Social Security card, and
A negative TB test or chest X-ray result (required before clinical hours).
CMA applicants also need their Kansas CNA certification and a Work Keys or equivalent reading assessment result.

Trinity Career Institute does not accept transfer of credits from other institutions?

Trinity Career Institute does not accept transfer of credits from other institutions. All students must complete the full program at TCI.

Is there a criminal background check?

Programs & Schedules

How do I enroll?

Hybrid means your coursework combines online learning (completed from home) with scheduled in-person skills lab sessions and supervised clinical hours at a healthcare facility. You do not attend campus every class day — but you are required to attend your scheduled in-person and clinical sessions.

How long are the programs?

CNA: 90 hours, approximately 5 weeks.
CMA: 75 hours, approximately 5 weeks.
CNA Refresher: 10 hours, 2 days.
CMA Update: 10 hours, 2 days.
HHA: 20 hours, 3 days.

When are classes held?

CNA: Mondays or Saturdays, 9 AM – 5 PM.
CMA: Thursdays, 9 AM – 5 PM.
CNA Refresher: Mondays & Wednesdays, 9 AM – 1 PM.
CMA Update: Thursdays & Fridays, 9 AM – 1 PM.
HHA: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (times vary). For exact 2026 dates visit the courses and programs pages.

What are clinicals?

Clinicals are supervised, hands-on patient care sessions at a healthcare facility. They are a required part of the CNA and CMA programs. CNA clinicals are held on three Sundays after the first week of class (8 AM – 4 PM). CMA clinicals are held on three weekends, typically Sundays (3 PM – 10 PM). Clinical hours CANNOT be missed — this is a state requirement.

What if my class is canceled due to bad weather?

If surrounding school districts close due to extreme weather, TCI will also close. You will be notified via local news and direct contact from school staff. A makeup session will be scheduled.

What is the maximum class size?

Classes are limited to 20 students. The clinical instructor-to-student ratio is 10:1, ensuring personalized attention during hands-on training.

Costs & Payments

What is included in the $920 package?

Everything you need: tuition, textbook, supplies (including a blood pressure cuff and stethoscope for CNA), uniforms, BLS/CPR training, proctor fee, state exam fee, and TB skin test. There are no additional hidden costs.

Is there a payment plan?

Yes — for CNA and CMA full programs. Pay $250 at enrollment, $335 in the second week of class, and $335 in the third week. A late fee of $20/week applies if a payment is missed, and suspension from class may result if more than 2 weeks behind.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept credit/debit cards, cash, checks, and money orders. Checks and money orders should be made payable to Trinity Career Institute.

Certification & Exams

What happens after I complete the CNA program?

You receive a Certificate of Completion from TCI and a NATCEP Part II checklist, which allows you to work as a Nurse Aide for up to 90 days. You must take and pass the Kansas State CNA Exam before the 90 days are up to receive your official KDADS CNA certificate.

What exam do CMA graduates take?

CMA graduates must obtain proof of license from KDADS before practicing. Contact KDADS for current examination requirements. The state test fee is included in the CMA package.

What is the passing grade?

You must score 70% or higher on all written tests and quizzes. Skills competency must be demonstrated and verified by your instructor before clinical rotation. If you are struggling, your instructor will meet with you one-on-one to create a plan to support your success.

How long are certifications valid?

CNA and CMA certifications in Kansas are generally renewed every two years. Contact KDADS or visit kdads.ks.gov for the most current renewal requirements. Trinity offers CNA Refresher and CMA Update courses to help you stay current.

Career & Job Placement

What kinds of jobs can I get after completing the CNA program?

CNA graduates can work in Long Term Care Facilities, Assisted Living Facilities, Hospitals, Home Health Agencies, and more. The demand for CNAs in the Kansas City area is strong.

Does Trinity offer job placement services?

Trinity Career Institute does not offer formal job placement services, but we network with area healthcare facilities for student referrals based on class performance, attendance, and accountability. We post job opportunities on our information board as they come in. While demand for CNAs, CMAs, and HHAs is high, we cannot guarantee employment.

Attendance & Conduct

Is 100% attendance required?

Yes. 100% attendance is expected in all classroom, skills lab, and clinical sessions. Makeup opportunities exist only for specific documented circumstances (death in family, acute illness, military duty, or sudden daycare emergency) and must be approved by the program director.

What happens if I am late to class?

CMA graduates must obtain proof of license from KDADS before practicing. Contact KDADS for current examination requirements. The state test fee is included in the CMA package.

Can I use my phone in class?

No. Cell phones and electronic devices are not permitted during classroom lectures or in the clinical environment.

What are the dress code requirements?

In the classroom/skills lab: neat, pressed street clothing (no sagging, no exposed undergarments, tattoos covered). During clinical: TCI scrubs in your program color (Red for CNA, Blue for CMA), name tag always worn, closed-toe shoes (preferably all white), no dangling jewelry, no artificial nails.
